Don't have much good to say about Indiana, but we don't have front plates here, which I LOVE.

Howdy everybody. This thread is another testament to the moto crowd. Political related issues flit in an out of a convo with no drama. Well done.

Sales tax is another reason I like old Moto Guzzi's. They don't hold their value, so they're cheap. Nobody knows what they are and most of the time they don't even show the model in the states system, so 'book' values are non existant.

No front plate is soooo nice. Every vehicle looks better without one. Well, most. More than the looks though, I hate the idea of drilling holes in the bumper of a new vehicle. It makes my insides twist up and I get teary eyed.

Hat tip to Ferd on that one. They design the F150 with a snap in bracket that doesn't require drilling. One of a few basic/standard features on the new truck that I really appreciate even though I don't run a front plate.

ya i wish... now if you look at my vehicles you wont see a front plate on a single one lmao

man if you ever want to sell a guzzi come out here since they usually fetch a pretty penny! they are not cheap at all lol
tell me about it.. i was there when i got my 19 si coupe for delivery and was super excited and then it rolled outside and it had the damn plate mount drilled into it... i asked them why they did that when i told them not to...

yup ford did it well with the ranger as well since it had a metal front bumper it was a clip mount that came off with two screws and then never even noticed it was a thing.

I stress this to no end when I'm buying/ordering a vehicle. I go so far as to tell them that if they drill holes in the car/truck the deal is off and they're going to reimburse me for travel expenses. Not like I can actually make them reimburse me, but it conveys the level of pissed that I'll be. I would actively try to make them replace the bumper though. You drilled holes in my car when you were instructed not to. That's on you, not me. It's a simple request and I have zero tolerance for it not being followed.

Right right. I’ve been doing my best to stay out of that thread. I bought this little thing for the occasional fun. Not trying to go full bore yet.

Ha! This thread gets off topic of motorcycles every now and then, and bounces around in all kinds of stuff. I truly like this thread for that reason.

That said… I have been lightly browsing a larger model for shits and giggles.

I follow sales pretty closely and I know quite a few dudes in the KCMO area. Bought my bags on my 'cruiser' from a Guzzisti from there. Seems fairly consistant to what I'm used to. Mind you I'm talking things >10 years old. Newer stuff runs at a Italian premium of course. But most every model once it's over that runs in the 3-5 range. I paid less than $3K ea for 2 of my bikes (I'd list em higher, of course). Now if you've got one of the handful of truly sought after models....that's different, but the state still has no idea what they are, so you COULD get away with fudging the BOS numbers, if you were so inclined.

I lust after a Norge but have read so many horror stories about their electrical systems. Very similar to the FJR but sexy AF and unique. Once in a while I lurk on Cycle Trader but it would also mean I'd need to get rid of something to make room and free up cash.

Always considered a 1/5 scale, maybe one day when I actually use the current ones I have more often.

    20240804_192450.jpg

Ridge lookout from the other weekend. Trail was definitely not street tire friendly with the mud puddles I had to go through, but I was 90% to my target location and pushed on. Would make a killer camp spot, big enough to squeeze a couple 4x4 rigs in even.

Do NOT be afraid! They're known to have one issue, which relatedly has a well known and easy to address repair, so if you find one that it hasn't already been done, you can do it cheaply and quickly. Its a starting issue, known lovingly as 'startus interuptus'. Same platform as my GRiSO, which had it, and I had to address it. a $45.00 relay kit from a shop in Texas completely cured it. Other issues can certainly come up, but the Guzzi community is incredibly developed and helpful.

Norge is a prime example. AMAZING machines. I know a guy who has shipped his all over the globe, has over 300k on it. (1100cc 2vpc version) Beautiful low mileage examples come up for STOOPID money. like $2k stupid.

Where you are is striking distance from arguably the best CARC (Norge/GRiSO/Stelvio) series bike mechanic in the world. A guy named Jim Hamlin in Bethel CT. I've met him several times and I know several of his bikes and they are lifetime machines. Never to be parted with.

A good freind of mine, our age, been riding 35 years or so, is a long time Guzzi guy, took a break for a while on a Aprilia Futura, then back onto a CARC Stelvio. Those are BIG machines. He reached out to Jim and went BACK in time onto a 2007 Norge, and feels like he's done. Tourse all over the Eastern US like you do. 300-400 mile days are a weekly thing, with several week long trips a year. (retired electrican/lineman)

You've done it now. I'm gonna be on ya.

    @BkerChuck :devil::devil::devil:

For Sale is my 2015 Moto Guzzi Norge GT 8 V. Purchased new from Moto International in September of 2016. I am the original owner. Asking $3,750.00.

Current mileage is approximately 15,240. I have ridden it only 200 miles in the last 2 years. I had ankle replacement surgery plus some other health issues. The bike feels a little heavy for me at low speeds now. The biggest issue for me is that the nearest dealer is 175 miles away. That was not the case when I bought it but the local dealership closed 6 months later. I do the maintenance on my older Britt bikes but have never taken to working on this.

Condition: Very Good. Top case has a minor scuff on the side from a parking lot tip over. Also lower section of the top case has a crack that has been repaired. My helper was pushing in the wrong place pushing it into a wheel chock on the lift. The biggest issue is that this M/G plastic tank has suffered from Ethonal fuel and there is some fairly inconspicuous bubbling. Most of it is small bubbles at the rear of the tank near the seat. This flaw could be dealt with in a number of ways and is reflected in the price.

This is a great bike to ride and a real mile eater. Side bags are like new. Comes with additional larger than stock M/G windscreen. I put the Honda Goldwing pegs on which lowered them about 3/4”. Original pegs go with the bike. Beautiful red fitted Norge cover. New battery 4 weeks ago. Oil and filter change at 15,000 miles, 2 years ago. Bike would make a great fly and ride. Bike is located in Central California near Fresno.
New tires at 12,000 miles. All service records available. Serviced regularly at Elk Grove Power Sports. Clean title. Send a PM,

gold as others have said, bronze if you want something a little understated.

I could also see the neon yellow or green, or I propose another idea: blue. either a suzuki match, or maybe a baby/tiffany blue? just spitballin
