What everybody said. OP the easiest to tell, if I not mistaken, look under the hood, see if any decals from factory are there. If no more, probraly front end collosion, and the hood was replaced. One of ways to figure out this Tacoma was in accident in past.

They used an semi-automated program to generate that [inaccurate] info and everyone just rolled with it despite being incorrect... Likely few if any of the veteran sales staff who knew the '16-'17 lineup are still there? Bugs the heck out of me, salesmen who don't know their product...

    - No hood scoop, black wheel well trim, chrome bumper, off-road sticker on bed, 16" off road type wheels = Off Road (FWIW: Chrome vs painted bumper on off-road = NO Premium package)
    - (Sport has [fake] hood scoop, sport decal on bed, painted wheel well trim, 17" sport wheels, painted bumper)

    - Off-Road also has a locking rear diff (you can look underneath it or check for switch in overhead panel)
    - Off-Road came with yellow Bilstein shocks (Though at +100k they might have been replaced on this one by now)

To answer your question, seems overpriced to me; but your call free market and all... I see CPO tag in your picture... I didn't think Toyota would CPO anything over 100k? I would not touch it without at least some kind of major component warranty that would cary you at least a year, and drop a bill or two for an independent inspection.... Finally, being this old/high mileage, they should let you borrow it for a few days. I would push that HARD. They have nothing to loose if it is a decent truck (Take note of the engine tune while you drive it, that is thing I like least about my '16 Off-Road 6MT)

And they changed the wheel well trim, rear bumper, wheels and tires? No-Way, would have made no sense when at the time the price between the two was negligible (Less than $600 difference between the two IIRC but ALL the Sports had a BS ~$1,400 premium package). MAYBE it was an almost new major crash/tornado/hail event, the value was still very high and insurance paid for all of this stuff to be replaced and someone was keen enough to change all that to off-road. (Check for factory, electronic locking diff to confirm 100% Guy at the parts counter can also probably confirm if you give him the vin)

lol now this thread has turned into a conspiracy theory that this truck is actually a Sport but got in a wreck and was sneakily changed to look like an Off Road

    It is an MT!

    But it is too expensive.

    But it is an MT...

Complete and utter (drama) hogwash ^ all of this...:facepalm::smack:
Not worth addressing the individual statements.

    ^This!

Don't give-up on the Manual! (The alternative is soul crushing Auto transmission depression!) It was hard finding one with an MT when looking for a NEW one. (Ask around... very few people just happened to run into an available MT...).
We all wait quite a while and have to travel most of the time. (I had several deposits down - and even then, I ended-up buying one out of state for another allocation which was newly posted and I just happened to call first...)

If they don’t believe it’s an off road Tacoma model then they should match the TRD sport price which is lower. Haggle at least 7k off, otherwise walk away.

Did you ask sales person at Toyota dealer why all OffRoad decals, if they insist it's TRD Sport?

Alright so hear me out...(I know i made rookie mistakes, next time wont happen):

First, I set up "price alert" on the dealers website like a month ago, immediately got an email from salesperson. I told them I was just looking around for a good deal... and I said whats there best price... three days later got an email that said "manager decided to discount 500$" and when could i go see it to set up an appointment. so at that time was 28k +title tax which in retrospect is way too much. I decided to go set up the appointment and haggle in person. FYI this is the "no haggle price". I drove like 2 hours to dealership, as soon as i set foot i got flocked by salespeople trying to make me buy something, and kept trying to ask me how i was going to pay. I told them im just browsing and they kept trying to convince me to buy something, so ultimately i told them I was there for an appointment. So, I got greeted by this white lady in her 50s, gave me trailer park girl vibes. Anyways she was nice at first sort of... As we were on the test drive, she kept talking about her son (keep in mind im like in my mid 20s) and how he got a tacoma also. She was on her phone the whole time, and occasionally would say how it is really hard to find manuals and they are collectors items. Then she asked me how i was paying, and i told her i was not sure yet. I then switched up the convo on how i noticed some cosmetic issues. And then she immediately changed her tone, to a more defensive one. So, we arrived to the dealership, and she invited me to sit down and talk. Then she immediately asks how i would be paying without even giving me a breakdown Im sure she thought i was just gonna say yes, without haggling or anything and sign the papers. So i told her what's the out the door price, cause i need a breakdown. Then shes brought it over and the price was like 32.k out the door, keep in mind she was on her phone and acting like she wasnt paying attention to me. I looked at the paper like a good minute, then told her its way more than i thought . It had like a 800 dollar mechanic dealer fee and like 200 cleaning fee. And asked what the mechanic fee was, she literally said it was for a mechanic to inspect it ran good. I told her, im going to pass since its 120k, cosmetic issues, and 3 owners. She said whats my offer... i said 24k...she literally stood up and said thanks for coming. And I just sat there for like 10 seconds and walked away...fast forward to now its advertised at 26k + title and fee.... in retrospect and based on everyones opinion, car is worth around 20K.....But its A MANUAL...

    In summary:

It's a fucking OR as the VIN says it is!

It's priced high but not freakishly high in the current used truck market

It's got high miles but not freakishly high for a Yota truck

It's actually a great looking truck

Shit or get off the pot OP!
