07, 170k, automatic trans I’ve had a slight jerk(shudder)? For a while now. It will only happen when I’m at a stop sign or light, if I press down a little bit harder on the gas it will feel like it jerks or maybe even slips to get into 2nd, but if I gradually ease into it with the gas it doesn’t do it. It’s Only when I have a heavier foot and want to step on it, it does this little shudder, jerk feeling. It’s quite annoying. I’ve been holding off on doing the trans because of this, just did others fluids including diffs, and t case, but want to know if anyone has had the same problem what fixed it? I’ve read online changing the trans fluid and adding some anti shudder fixes some ppls problem, but some shops will say too risky, some will say do It. I’m in a real dilemma here. (I don’t think my truck has ever had fluids serviced, bought it at 155k). I want to note I have the towing package so I’m wondering if I’m just low from factory like the few others who have explained this issue. But with the trans fluid never being changed this long it makes me very scared to service it…

Is checking the fluid condition and level something only the dealer can (should) do?
