I put a deposit on a new 2025 Orbea Rise LT H20. I have never ridden a rise and certainly not the new one, though I have been drooling over them for quite some time. Now that they've kept the weight low and added a decent battery range, I took the plunge. The only color I could find was this one. Not my favorite, but I dig it. Has anyone ridden the new ones? Thoughts? Thoughts on the color (if you've seen one in person).

    Hi Keith.

Same boat here. Bought a medium 25 Rise LT M10. Got it 8/1. Not a big fan of the color. Was supposed to be blue. Looks purple. No real experience with anything like this.

Love the thing tho. Light AF for an ebike. Been enjoying it when time allows. Have gripes about the tuning.

How has your experience been thus far?

I like the purple better than the yellow. They need a neon green version. Have you considered a Surron?

The color looks different in different light. But, it’s not a big deal. This thing is fun AF.
Surron isn’t an option here. Not for where I’m riding anyway. That, and I want the exercise. Just, with a selectable amount of help. The hills here in the Bay Area are no joke.

I ended up changing the order to an LT H10. The H20 has an EP6 motor. I felt like that might be problematic when it comes to updates and support, as the tunes and materials of construction are different. Love the bike, but it's heavier than I expected (50lbs with pedals), but keep in mind it's a Large and has the larger battery. Though I will say, my brother and I switched bikes for a bit in Bentonville and he immediately noticed that my bike felt lighter than his Turbo Levo Comp.

The yellow color turned out to be gold. I dig it.

I forgot to mention, I hate the app. Not intuitive at all. It needs a bit more massaging. In the meantime, I hear they've released the "race tune" for the EP801. I hope to get it soon. We'll see how it does.

I've been grinding with my "ME-bike", I can't ride with any friends anymore because 100% of them went E-bike. I took mine in for a tune..and the new ones right in that price range seem doable. I told them..."maybe see you at Christmas!"

my wife said, "get in the truck honey" :D

Yeah, I get it. I had the same issue. I'm not a purist, but I wanted to stay "analog" to benefit my fitness, but the e-bike is just objectively more fun. Honestly, the fitness is about the same. I just ride more trail and faster.

I was finally able to get the “race” tune for the EP801. Nick at Belmont Bikes in San Mateo got me all set up. Major improvement. I’m really in love with this bike now. More power in boost mode and the carryover assist are key.

I replaced the seat, and added more weight to my bike. :( I had too. At least my rear end is happy.

Man...you're not lying. That seat is a freaking ROCK! I haven't replaced mine yet, but I will. What did you go with?

My local bike shop. And got a $60 one, TBH look same as the $29 one at Walmart. Can't remember now, either I was told, read, did research, or the bike shop said this, that the "Walmart" ones won't fit. I'm cheap, so I bought it. And it didn't work with the seatpost.

So I had to bring the bike in. And got a seatpost that would work. That was almost $100, I wanted and they recommend a good (lighter) one. That seatpost was long. Since I'm adding now "a lot more weight" I ask them to saw a few inches off to where it would still strong. I'm not that tall of a guy, so they did measurements and determine exactly where to cut, and allow room if I want it a bit higher at times. I can't remember the total cost. But it was a bit OMG (for what it is), I think almost $200. But again, we all know cycling is expensive. More than cars, not in total dollars, but expensive. You know what I mean.

Still kept my OEM seat, but the new ones make riding way better. Not a bike expert I'll admit, but I can feel that "extra 2+lbs" when I to lift it up. I don't even think about it now, until I touch and feel how light the OEM seat is in the garage.

I haven’t had any issue with the seat that came on my bike. I would however like to see your new one. Got any pics @GoLowDrew ?

One thing that I’d like to fix is the maximum height of the dropper post. If I’m standing while I press the lever, it pops way too far up and then I’ve got to mess with it to get it where I want it for a few seconds instead of focusing on the trail in front of me. This has me using it far more conservatively than I’d like. Can the max height be adjusted without cutting anything?

Not 100% sure. I think you just need a shorter dropper. The "snap to" position should be fully extended.

Compared to my Giant Trance X dropper, I'm not real impressed with the in-house Orbea offering. I may swap it out for a Fox transfer, or give PNW a try.

    One up.

I will edit to say that a lot of dropper posts are shit, either in actuation or staying down when you release the switch.

Has Fox finally fixed their QC issues?

At this point I only trust PNW or one up.
