Reaching out to the brain trust here to clarify something.

In my understanding of the front suspension, the extended length of the shock would affect maximum droop, wheres the bumpstop determines the limit of uptravel. Given this, consider the following two ext length coilovers for the 3rd genTacoma (from Fox):

    Fox 883-02-025 (IFP, non-resi)

    Extended 22.930
    Compressed 18.040
    Travel 4.890

    Fox 883-06-178 (performance elite, dcs)

    Extended 21.870
    Compressed 16.640
    Travel 5.230

The second coilover is certainly the superior product, but the extended length is over a full inch shorter. Wouldn't this be a loss of droop/travel? Are these two shocks perhaps measured in different ways? maybe not to the top-hat? Just curious...

For anyone who need this same question answered, the reason for the discrepancy is indeed that the shocks are not measured from the shock top hat. When measured from the shock top hat they are nearly identical (the correct specs can be found at Accutune's website, I have not seen them anywhere else).
