Thinking about putting 35’s on and wondering if I need to regear or not. Body mount relocated + pinch weld completed. Anything else I need to think about doing. I do moderate off-roading when I get back to CO.

By 6 speed, I am assuming you mean manual. I personally wouldn’t consider 35’s without a regear, but I wasn’t happy with stock tires and gears either. I would suggest a 5.29 regear for 35’s. I and many others would recommend the front diff bushing as well.

Your clutch would be much happier with a regear and 35's... especially in reverse!

Regear (tune while you’re at it, many will attest to it here), pinch weld flattening or CMC but not necessarily CMR depending on your wheel set up will be needed unless you get an after suspension (LCA/UCA) that moves your tires forward or you get a JD Fab pivot kit which moves everything 1 inch forward. Anything you move forward will need to be addressed as well. This means inner fenders and outer fenders. I had to do this when I was running 285/75/17’s.

Manual on 33s here with stock gearing, I wouldn't want to go to 35s on stock gears. I've got a fair bit of extra weight as well, but I think 33s are definitely the limit on stock gears. My complaint is more on road than off, stock gear and 33s is still plenty slow offroad, but I find myself grabbing another gear on road way more often than I did on 32s.

I think the 6mt stock gearing is just fine on 33” E load mud terrains. You can choose your shift points ya know? 35’s might be the tipping point to 4.88’s (brings you back to stock total gear ratio), but I would drive the truck a while on 35s before making a decision. 5.29s seem like overkill, but it’s all personal preference.

OP, I suggest you drive it with stock gears for a while and make up your own mind.

    33/31 = 1.06
    35/31 = 1.13
    37/31 = 1.19

    4.88/4.3 = 1.13
    5.29/4.3 = 1.23

Appreciate the opinions and suggestions. Probably just stay with my current setup.

im running 35s with stock 6mt gears temporarily as i plan to regear. but honestly paired with a tune it isnt as bad as i thought. remember a bone stock manual truck has same final ratio as an auto truck regeared to 5.29s.
