It's #4 on the diagram. I was changing my intake filter and spark plugs and noticed this thing is dirty as hell. I can't easily find the part number for it online much less figure out what it is so I can clean it/replace it. Sorry for the blurry pic, hard to take a pic in the dark.

As always, any advice is greatly appreciated!

    Leave it alone.

If you change your air filter regularly, you will never need to service that.
The only way to service it, is to buy the upper intake box and all.

Or drill out the plastic rivets and take it out. But I don't recommend it.

I trust your judgement enough to leave it alone, but it does seem odd that it's a non-serviceable part given that it looks pretty filthy. I'm the third owner of this truck and I do all the regular maintenance fairly timely, but to be honest I've never actually looked at this thing! At some point, would it be worth it to get the entire assembly? I can't help but wonder if the engine isn't getting enough air because of it.

*Edit: at $600 for the assembly, I think I'll just let the engine starve

Remove it (the air cleaner box) and shoot gently with compressed air.

It's 2 10mm bolts and 2 hose clamps. 1 MAF sensor and 1 fuel pressure vacuum hose.

While its off its time to clean the maf and throttle!

The 4.0 has a massive air filter housing, it doesnt starve for air.

I’ve been meaning to clean the maf and throttle for a while now. I guess this is a good reason to tackle it!
