Yeah, I bet that was a pretty good show. Seen some good shows over the years, especially growing up in Motown

 morning boys. Have a great Sunday

Sounds like you got a worse visit from Debbie than I did. I got 6.5" of rain over 3 1/2 days and a few dead branches down. Have had worse thunder storms.

Nice little car. Enjoy your new toy.

    Afternoon all:

Just got done cutting up a dead oak that came down. Might not have had to, but it was bridging a heavy runoff area just off the yard, it would have eventually settled and created a dam so best to get it out of the way.

Cool car there Dave, must admit though, I never saw an exhaust pipe quite like that!

Lol yeah, my son commented too. It's an aftermarket item. The car comes with two metric buttloads of spares, including a standard muffler that will be going on ASAP!

Good morning. Been a busy weekend and continues into today. Sprinkler company is out today to replace worn out sprinkler heads. He will be here at 8am so it is off to the gym early. Also going to smoke the pork butt today.

    Plain Jane - Bare bones
    Good Monday morning!
Well, Debby certainly was a rude guest to our area. Officially 16" of rain in less than 24 hours in our area on Monday of last week after it made landfall to the west of us.

I got up here to north Florida to check things out on Thursday. The water mark was 8" below the floor of our home. No water intrusion, no roof damage. The 14" flex ducting under the place is holding some water. I'll have to wait util next weekend to replace that. The septic pump and alarm controls and outlets were underwater; I had to rewire those and put them about 2' higher on a 4"x4" post. We bought this property a couple years ago, it included, at no value, a 2,000 sq ft. mobile home that I have rebuilt from the frame up. So far, a little over 2 years of work in my "spare" time.
The shed was flooded and made a big mess. The water line on that was 2'. Spent a day drying out tools, etc. My zero turn mower had water halfway up the engine at some point. There was a small water moccasin hanging out by the battery. Surprisingly it cranked up and spit out some water as it came back to life. Drying out a couple chain saws still. We have made improvement, cut in a couple swales, to the land since we bought the place and that really expedited the drainage.

We have a very tall water oak in the back yard that was blown over and is resting in the strong arms of a live oak. Praying the live oak holds on until our tree guys can get out here. The live oak would be very close to hitting our place if it gives up. As you can imagine, the tree services are BUSY. Luckily we're a repeat customer. A few other trees down that I can see. Many large limbs, I haven't walked the whole property yet but certain there are a few more back in the forest area. We were very fortunate to have avoided much much worse. Thank God! It is only "stuff".
There are a few houses down the road with water up to the windows. I cannot imagine what those folks are dealing with. Sad.

    Have a great Monday!

Good morning all. Best of luck to those of you dealing with flooding, it's no joke. For the first time since I've been in my house, over 24 years, we're under a boil water advisory. Minor inconvenience in the overall scheme of things but a PITA nonetheless. Water company had a main break sometime Friday afternoon and still not back to full operation and cleanliness levels required.

Sorry to hear the issues with the hurricane, very glad things were not worse for you affected folks.
I live with a creek running thru my acre, have had to evacuate a dog years ago from their dog pen as part or my property is lower by 4’ maybe. Water was running thru the pen, doggie standing in water in his house. What a mucky mess later.

Watching the local news, the 60 year old guy had to end his swim from Michigan to Wisconsin, bummer. He’s done it twice already, and has failed a few times. He said he’ll try again next year, he’s a bad ass.
