So, I finally created an account here! For years I’ve been on the outskirts of Google as I need info and this site would pop up. Bought my first “Tacoma” in 2010, dbl cab 4x4 6 speed manual with 15 miles on it. Well, one week ago I hit a dead pine in the road at 5am on my way to work, rolled it! 330,000 miles and it was the best truck I ever owned, well I still own it and will use it as a parts truck. So last Monday I started a mad search for a 2nd gen just like it, with the manual transmission. It’s like finding a unicorn!! Every one I could find was 300+ miles from me in SE Georgia. Well I bought one today! 2014 that’s lived in boulder Colorado it’s whole life. Only 70k miles on it. Clean, no accidents that were recorded. The whole rust issue was my first thought thru the buying process. It has the campaigne coating on it now and I guess I’ll have to continue to monitor scabs, it has some but not many. I hope it will last as long as my other one!

Welcome! Ive had my ‘15 for 4+ years and it’s been great. Mine also had 70k (69 something actually) when I bought it. Had a ‘97 ex cab 4x4 v6 5 spd back in the early ‘00’s that I wish I’d never sold. Both are what I call Razorback red (Barcelona) because I’m an Arkie.

Hello from NC - welcome :hattip:and great find on the truck  now that you've got some wheels you could easily sell parts on the other truck and make some :spending:
