Hey guys, just picked up another rattle . Only rattles when I shift the truck into reverse or drive when the truck isn’t warmed up and wears off when I accelerate. Starts again when I slow down at a stop sign. Any ideas as to what it could be? Truck almost sounds like a diesel.

Have that same exact noise for about 2 years now. Have had no other issues.

Where is the noise coming from? I had an exhaust gasket disintegrate on me last year. Only made noise at idle in gear

Downstream of the cats where it Y's into one pipe

Hey guys, thanks for the responses. Did some more testing and found that it only makes the sound between about 700 and 1300 rpm. Makes sense now cause idle gets down to about 500 when the engines all heated up, which is why I don’t hear the rattling after not driving a while.

It sounds like it’s coming more from the engine bay I believe

    Do you have the 4.0?

There are vertical supports on the flanges of the cats. These can rust out right along the edge of the flange, leading to hard to find rattling. In my case, it rattles a bit at higher RPM in park and sometimes at idle in drive, as well as clunking slightly sometimes at odd angles/speeds/bumps (which had me chasing suspension clunks for a year).
