4.0 Swap into 2.7 shell?

hey yall, i was wondering if I could get any info from you guys about possibly swaping my 2006 4.0L into a 2006 2.7 rolling shell. I just dont know if the 2.7 5speed manual would bolt up to the 4.0. My 4.0 was auto and was in a double cab, would i be able to also swap the auto transmission into the 2.7 body, the 2.7 is the extended cab. both are 4x4, and both dont have the rear locker

 

It can be done yes but there's more to it than just the engine and trans, the R155F will not bolt up to the 4.0 so you will need the engine and trans from the donor in addition to at a minimum the engine & transmission harness, shifter, PCM, instrument cluster, and possibly the interior harness among other things.

Also the 2.7L has 4.10 ratio axles and the 4.0 has 3.73 ratio axles which if your going to oversize tires/wheels may be a plus.
