Tacoma OEM Lock T Harness + TAG Plug?

Hi there,

I am looking to get an OEM long 60" Lock T harness to connect my OEM power locking tailgate to the power lock on my Leer shell. The cables leading to the shell power lock have this plug on them ->




I was wondering if I could order the Lock T Harness with the adjoining female plug to plug directly into the shell power lock, instead of having to snip this plug off and splice the wires together. FWIW the power lock used to plug into a TAG fuse box, but that fuse box is toast and I don't have any intention of wiring up anything else in the camping shell.

I sell a complete TAG solution which is what I use in my own truck. That would be how I would accomplish this. You also want brake and ground for your third brake light and the TAG handles that.

Replacement fuse boxes are easily available as well.

I do not have any female 4 position molex connectors and that isn’t a waterproof connector so it’s not ideal if removing the shell. I also don’t customize, particularly when the customization request is a downgrade.

if you prefer your own quick disconnect off a lock T, I’d recommend AMP style.

Last, you need some way to get the signals into the truck bed. A pre crimped 4 position connector will not fit through the very small gap in the rail, only bare wire will. My plug and play solutions therefore use Deutsch flanges and require drilling. I’m pretty happy with the final result, most others are as well.
