When removing the Chin Strap is there anything more that you need to do?
Hoping to pick up my 2024 Sport Premium in about a week and the strap is coming off first thing. Just starting to scan through the forums and thought I saw that it makes more noise but if you do this ....

    1) Put the hardware back in the holes
    2)

    Let me know thanks!

    2) Several rolls of aircraft speed-tape to make a full underbody pan of sorts.

Or, drive it, check for whistles, plug holes, repeat.

I am the lucky owner of a 2024 TRD Sport w/premium package (bronze oxide). The first thing I did was remove the air damn (that's what I called it!). I did put the screws back in. I haven't noticed any extra noise. I have done a few other little things. So far, after 2K miles no problems.

I would wait until you get your truck because my Sport Premium came with the plugs installed. I think earlier builds are ones that didn't have them. Mine was built June 12th.

I got a premium sport as well, build date in May 2024 and my chin came off, screws back in original holes, missing plugs in the swing arms, but I didn't hear the noise people complained about. Nonetheless I bought and added those plugs anyways just in case. Hopefully yours comes from the factory with them.

The presence (or not) of these plugs seems largely inconsistent from model to model. Some have even reported having plugs only on one side! I'm just pissed I had to pay for something that is on some trucks of the same trim level or sometimes lower. My dealership wouldn't do anything about it and I was on the hook for the purchase. Of course that was before others found a cheaper alternative!

Thanks CoffeeStout, it was probably your post then that I saw this suggested. Figured I would pass along the good information. I live in the middle of nowhere so mine still haven't arrived but I look forward to them arriving this week.

Anybody buy or is buying an XtraCab? I know someone on the forum got a Prerunner but I think that was only one person and they might have posted their numbers in this thread. I don't think the XC will much of a discount outside what incentives Yoyota is offering at that time.

That was the wrong thread I don't think this was on the 1st page when I replied.

I put the hole plugs in the lower control arms and the howling stopped. Can't live with the cowl, can't live with the howl.
