The 3.5 inch lift kit from rough country is looking very appealing for the price:yay:. Does anyone have experience with this? Is it a good purchase and if so what else needs to be changed on the truck with a 3.5 inch lift ( besides what they provide obviously)
If you have this kit installed some pics would be awesome :D

    Just an opinion --

Concerning Rough Country products, in general, I adopt a "Frankie Goes to Hollywood" attitude.

    Relax, don't do it.

    Just to elaborate a little,
That kit does not have drop brackets. 3.5" is MUCH too much lift without brackets that correct the geometry of your suspension (be ready for annual CV joint boot replacements, and possibly steering rack rebuilds too if you use that kit. Also a degraded ride).
This is why Rough Country gets a bad rap around these parts. Not everything of RC is garbage (their Vertex shocks are decent for the price), but some things should be avoided (this is one of them).

2" is the generally-accepted maximum height to keep things relatively trouble-free when lifting with simple shock/UCA lifts.

I would suggest looking into the Bilstein 5100 or 6112/5160 setups. These aren't overly expensive and actually improve the ride & handling over stock, but again you gotta keep it 2" or less to get the best results.

Completely agreed after a night of research. My leaf springs are completely destroyed after the previous owner loaded two tons of rock into the bed :angrygirl: so I need a kit that will come with leaf springs and generally 2 inch kits only come with add a leafs. I was looking at a custom dobinsons 2.1 inch lift. That will have the leaf springs and has appears to be a better choice. For 3275 if there a better option that will get me leaf springs? Any thoughts or comments on dobinsons products?

4000 lbs of rock... huh... You might want to check to make sure your rear axle didn't get taco'ed from all that weight (maybe the frame too).:bananadead:

As for leaf springs, they do seem to be a common oversight by a lot of companies. I don't know why more kits don't offer more comprehensive options for the rear lift.
I would suggest just get rear springs separately and not let that dictate what you get for the front.
Icon RXT and Deaver are popular options that provide around 2" or so lift. The RXT is nice in that you can set them up for different ride heights/load carrying capacities.
