Carl, I didn't post in here.... I was going to... just couldn't post it again.

Phillip, I missed the post about your granddaughter - hope she recovers soon

Carl, hope you got your latch all fixed up. is there a way to put a washer on the inside and sammich the door between the handle and washer?

Yes, she's gone  The worst part - I took her to the emergency vet to be put down, I wasn't sure if she was in pain... and didn't want her to suffer. We get there and she is non-responsive, she didn't move a muscle when they put her on a stretcher taking her out of the back of OB - you'd figure a vet and vet tech would recognize the signs she doesn't have much time left and they wanted to know if I wanted them to do blood work and try and treat her. Then the vet told me she was incontinent - REALLY??? You mean all the blue pads I changed was for nothing?!?!?! All the pee wasn't pee at all. Sorry.....

No, they didn't mis read anything unfortunately

    thanks

    evening boys

It perfectly normal to be nervous , we all get nervous, concerned, scared prior to surgery. The stents are no big deal. Almost every time they perform kidney surgery to remove stones (which is a common and frequent surgery) stents are placed. Either temporary or permanent stents. I’ve had them myself. Don’t know for sure but I assume it likely they will use laser lithotripsy to breakup and remove the stones. May use a different technique. It’s a quite common surgery and a fairly safe procedure. I’m not sure how Parkinson’s affects or complicates the surgery. Grill your doctor with questions and your concerns. Knowledge will quell many of your concerns. Ask how many of these procedures your surgeon has done. You don’t want a surgeon who has only done a couple such surgical procedures. Finally think positive, the power of positive thinking can get us through almost anything. Prayers sent your way.

So so very sorry Sue. I know the feeling of your loss, I know the pain and sadness. Just can’t find the words to adequately express myself.

    Sue!

The latch is a rectangular piece of steel with a 1/2" hole in it that fits onto the 1/2" shaft on the door handle, a set screw or bolt holds it in place on the shaft and allows for adjustment if needed, that is IF I CAN GET THE DARN THING LOOSE!
There is a shaft collar on the handle on both the inside and outside of the door that keep it in place, that isn't the problem, it's the part that goes against a small ramp inside the stove that tightens and applies pressure to the door so it seals against the gasket.
Possibly, threading the end of the 1/2" rod and using nuts and lock washers to hold the latch in place instead of a set screw would work---MAYBE, plus that would be more work!

Whew, It looked heavy. I know the frames can be lighter and stronger, but glass is glass, and it is heavy. There is a lot of glass in that window. Working on unique projects is always exciting and fun to do. That window looked like a lot of work but when done the satisfaction when finished had to feel good.

Susan and I are friends on Facebook. I saw her post yesterday morning. It was not a fun post to read.

Good morning. Today we are off to my sister's beach home for a weekend of relaxation. When we get home on Monday I will need to replace the expansion tank on the hot water heater. O fun o joy, I just love to do plumbing.

Friday? Another Friday? Only 5 so far this week! What a grand life!

As a retired mechanical engineer, I’ve almost always done my own vehicle work. From simple mods to engine overhauls and pull and replacement. Sadly in the last couple of years if my hands get close to steel, my hands lose flesh and blood! It’s like the steel attacks my flesh! I’ve tried Mechanix gloves, neoprene gloves, all sorts, but to no avail. BLOOD SUCKING STEEL! Even things as simple as oil changes seem to damage my old hands!

Weekend trip prep tasks: truck- load camping gear, load fishing gear, check all recovery/tire repair gear, check fluids tires, etc.; Casita-flush water lines and fill water tank half way, check propane, light and cool down refridge, load clothes, schedule meals & buy food, make veggie platter for grandson & bud, check tire pressures, etc.; House-make certain bird feeders are all full Sunday night, rinse and refill birdbath Sunday, print out map with dates & locations for my lady, one more chlorox wipe cleaning of house before cleaning ladies show on Monday.

I think that’s all I need to get done before my Wind River Range escape. 6 days alone with fish and maybe see some wildlife. Weather-70s days and high 30s to low 40s nights! NICE! Wish you all could join me for a week of fishing and wildlife spotting!

The surgery I'm going to have is called Percantaneous Nephrolithotomy . They insert a scope into my lower back through small incisions then cut open each kidney and remove the stones

For this surgery I'm placed into a prone position on the table . My Anesthesia doctor is concerned that being I'm in a prone position and having Parkinson's my breathing can become an issue as this surgery is 4-5 hours long

The frame alone was tough to move around. We didn't put the glass in until the frame was in and squared-up. I can't take any pride in the job. My buddy's the carpenter and came up with all of the brainpower to overcome the rot we found in the support framework. I always say: Give me a piece of wood, I'll burn it for heat. Give me a piece of metal, I'll make you something.

You are a Marine. If anyone can kick Parkinson’s ass and overcome the kidney problem, you can. Trust in and believe in God, you are going to be ok.

You got it Chuck! They will ensure your proper breathing if interrupted, I am sure. And all those stones gone? Will be comfortable to sit in your rumble car!
