Welcome to today's wonderful world of parts where OEM is either discontinued or on intergalactic backorder and aftermarket if available is generally shit.

Have to try an aftermarket one I guess, some people have had luck with them.

You can change just the coil but I don't know of anyone that just sells the coil.

I mean, i kinda have no other choice really other than to look for an aftermarket one. What causes these things to fail anyhow?

It's an electronic part so it's gona fail sooner or later. Some last forever some fail early, just how it is.

Ill order the clutch from RY compressor, it does kinda strike me as the most official looking one since frankly i dont want to buy one on ebay or Amazon for like 40 bucks lol.

Well boys, im not gunna count my chickens just yet but the compressor clutch is spinning correctly and im getting cold air out the vents. Installed the clutch tonight, it was a real pain in the ass to get the second C clip off the back of the compressor stem. Im a little nervous that i didnt seat the C clips just right, even though i was tapping them with a small flathead and rotating them around to be sure. Just yknow, paranoid the friggin pulley falls off my engine on the highway and grenades the thing lol. In putting up my tools for the night and im gunna double check everything in the morning. The aftermarket clutch seems to be of good quality and fit right on the OEM compressor. Wont know the full details until probably a few months of running with it.

    thanks fellas,
    Noah

Do yall think there is any kinda like post operative care i should do? Like have a shop check the coolant levels? I am thinking about taking it all back apart again and redoing it to make sure its on there correctly, with maybe a new set of C clip pliers lol

Shouldn't need to do anything, never a bad idea to check all the fluids while your under the hood though.

You can do a quick check on the A/C by checking the suction line with the A/C running and the blower on high, if it's ice cold your good. If it's barely cool or not cool at all it may be low on refrigerant.

Did a checkup today and everything seems fine, the clutch engages and disengages correctly when cycling the AC button in the truck. Torqued it down and put some thread locker blue on the bolt that goes into the compressor stem. Let it run for a while and the line on the inside of the engine bay was pretty much ice cold, generating a lot of condensation lol. AC was blowing about as cold as I remember it being before it quit out on me, maybe like what 55-60 degrees while driving? No thermometer to back that up with, just a guess on my end. No abnormal noise coming from the compressor area, took it up to 3000 RPM for like ten seconds to see what was up and no problems. AC light no longer flashes.
One tiny little thing that I had to do was swap the positive bullet style connector out from the old magnetic coil pack to the new one in order for it to fit correctly in the female end, the new coil pack had too small of a bullet connector.

What do you guys think about 37 inch military tires? :D
