I will be shipping my 2012 tacoma to Europe next year. I lived there prior for about 5 years. My question is if anyone has shipped one over yet? I'm curious because the rear tail lights need a rear fog light on one housing. Has anyone modded this yet?

    Thank you!

    for military or to live?
You can get away with the one fog under the rear bumper thats bright, like older mercedes do. Will you have to go through TUV?

I will be there as a civilian this time. So yes, I will need that yearly or bi annual Tuv inspection done. Most of the items arent to bad. My mirrors are converted with side markers already. Everything works and is super clean. Thankfully I have over a year to figure this problem out still. But I will need to figure out a rear fog light installation.

Couldn’t you use the Diode Dynamics SSC2 with red backlighting as a rear fog?

You can then just install one on the drivers side and call it good. Hook it into your tail light wiring and you'll be all set! I dont see anything for a euro tacoma. Where are you going to live? My best friend still lives there. Never came back from being stationed there and married a german girl..

when there is a will there is a way.

However, instead of putting a rear fog in the tail
why don't you mount one externally like a ton of cars in the past have done. 1.

    2. why not use this as a potential opportunity to take advantage of, to leave the Tacoma at home or sell it
buy something cool while you're there, and bring it back
such as Land Rover Defender 110 series diesel manual

I understand new cars made there may be required to have integrated fogs. They often are made that way.
But I don't see how a law can be made requiring every model the past 30 years, that did not have it integrated but rather externally,
to magically force people to mount one internally, that may not fit.

If I was in your shoes I'd sell the Tacoma and buy a HiLux. :)

Totally agree. Especially if you plan to stay long term. Services, parts, insurance, ... future European eco-taxes and when it will be time to sell it.
Stay with local cars/trucks. Pickup + Toyota = Hilux

I will disagree with everyone else. Bring yours. It will be unique and worth it. Parts are accessible there, especially if you have someone that has an APO AE address still!! I brought my old CJ-5 over back in the 90s, sold it for a gold mine when I left!!

I thought you were required to have amber turn signal lamps in the tail lamps as well?
