No. Idaho house 1/4 finished. Yesterday they cut a shortcut to my back garage. Now instead of 700 ft to plow, it'll be only 350 ft lol

    Hee hee...

Still got hundreds of dead dying ash here on my place.

We leave them upright as long as possible so they don't rot on the ground before we get to them.

Guessing most people with heavy woods work from their house outwards like us?

Even leaving them standing I would assume little usable wood left in them.

We do have some Purple Ash still alive. They didn't seem to care for them. Also a few trees have recovered fairly well.

I've noticed some recovering as well. The biggest and the best are totallly dead though, mostly 6 to 10 inch diameter that have some new growth on them. Can only hope. Gotta watch though, the tops snap off as they die off/dry out. Might have to be very watchful when felling them.

As long as I treat the ones in the yard for the beetles.... They will stay alive. So we treat about a dozen around the place every year.

Now as to the ones in our woods? Yeah they are anywhere from 6" to 36" in diameter. Many of them are breaking off up at the flare outs. My neighbors who heat with wood all want the big stuff that needs split.

So I drop them or shove them over & then make big logs & grab them with the grapple on the tractor & drop them over the fence to their side.

We keep about 5cords for ourself under cover, but we hardly ever use it. On a snowy day or holiday the wife will want a fire while she cooks in the kitchen.... But if shes just chilled in the living/TV room?

She hits the button on the gas log fireplace instead. No smoke to deal with & no ashes.

If I recall correctly the chemical apps only work until the tree reaches a certain size, then they become less effective.

I've been heating with wood exclusively for the past 14 years: 0 heating bills, house at 76-78 degrees no matter the outside temp.

Bought an Osburn Horizon 3500 for the Idaho house

Will use one of the knockouts to passively heat the master bedroom upstairs

Been looking at a little bigger saw than the MS290 I have and didn’t really want to pony up for a new one. Found this one on marketplace and went and grabbed it today.

Picked this up for my 40hp 1988 Mariner outboard. checked the fuel screen ( no paper filter)it’s good . Gas is good ,always 91 octane non ethanol ,50/1 mix . New fuel line ,new plugs . At full throttle it bogs right down . Going to adjust those hi/lo screws I think they are called on the carbs when my buddy gets here Monday . I also read somewhere it could be the actual throttle control on the pontoon boat . That will be the next thing that gets replaced .

I've never had that kind of stuff work before. Carb probably needs gone through and cleaned manually.

    I know
I already ran a bottle of Marine Seafoam through it at the beginning of the season . My buddy swears by this stuff so it can’t hurt to try . The carbs were redone twice about 10 -12 years ago and what it actually was is a bolt holding the starter was loose and engine was sucking air o_O
It’s time for a new boat but I’m still paying for the travel trailer :annoyed: I’ve had this boat at least 20 years . My brother gave it to me . Did the floor ,carpet and added new furniture, rewired all the lights but it needs to be all done over again . Right now it runs and floats so I got that going for me  never registered it either . Has a NY number and Pennsylvania registration from 2011 on it :rofl:actually I haven’t had this boat 20 years  probably since 2011 but had a couple others before this one that I used and then my brother sold them .

    Stihl chainsaw question
I have two saws that were in my shed when Hurricane Debby dumped 18” of rain in my neighborhood. They were underwater for a couple days. I have taken out the plugs and air filters in both. They have been drying out for over a week.
I cleaned the plugs and splashed a bit of fuel in the cylinder…. But neither will fire. What else may be the problem?
