I bought a used 2016 Tacoma bare bones work truck. It came with a Rockledge security system from the original dealer that works fine, but it doesn't have remote start capability. I need to leave my truck running with the doors locked, and the FOB is non-responsive with the ignition on. I'm just locking the door with the key, but I want to use the fob. Has anyone made this work yet?

Update. I got it to do what I wanted by removing the wire from the alarm connector that was connected to the ignition. It's a yellow wire at the second position from the end of the connector. But there are side effects. When I take the truck out of park, it arms the alarm now. There's no issue until I stop and open the door and starts sounding the alarm. For now I just have to remember to disarm it before I open the door. My more permanent workaround is going to be to put it into valet mode, but I can't do this without an "ignition" signal. I ran out of time for now, but I'm going to install a small momentary push button switch connected to the same location on the alarm connector as the wire I removed. After that, I can hold the button while I enable or disable valet mode. I'll post pics when I get back to it.
