We recently replaced the A/C Compressor on my 2107 Tacoma SR5. Prior to replacing it, we tested the clutch on the old compressor by bypassing (jumpering) the MG CLT relay terminal and the clutch engaged, but the compressor shaft wouldn't turn. Locked up. After replacing the compressor, we did the same thing to Recharge the freon. This time, the clutch Did Not Engage, but the fuse IG1 No2, located inside vehicle blew out and the controls no longer worked. WE replaced the fuse, repeated the procedure and the fuse blew again.
Any suggestions as to where to go from here?

Unplug the compressor and see if it blows.
Or use a test light and save a fuse.

If the fuse doesn’t blow, or the test light stays off. It the compressor.

What brand did you go with?
