We recently purchased a 2013 Tacoma dual cab long bed. On the test drive prior to purchase we immediately noticed the "kazzoo" noise coming from the front driver and passenger doors. The owner, whom we know, acknowledged the noise and said it has done it since day one when driving the highways, and he had taken it to the dealer several times in 2013-14 and they did nothing. As a result he just lived with it and said there was no fix. It was almost a deal breaker for me, but upon researching the issue we found it was a problem with Tacomas over several years, but my kid's dream car was a Tacoma, and I lost a bet sooooo.

Anyhow, in Southen California you really can't get around freeway driving and the noise got super annoying pretty quickly. After going through many posts I decided to try the drip line between the door frame and door gasket. It did help a little but the noise was still present. Instead of adding an additional piece of line into the void in the seal, and in the valley of the gasket, I decided to try the Trim-lok D-shape gasket fix by BizzyB726 (link below). The fix calls to put the D-shape gasket on the door frame between the frame and the gasket (just like the drip line hack).

I removed the previously installed drip line from the driver side and ran the D-gasket from just below the side mirror, up around the curve, and across the top to a couple of inches short of the end (where the flat gasket corner piece pops into the corner of the door frame and sits flush with the frame). I angle cut the D-gasket where that starts. it's easy to see.

Trip 1 - Went to the Sierras. I put the gasket on the driver side only, and had the drip line hack on the passenger side. I only did one side for a test. Through the desert there are generally plenty of crosswinds but I wanted know if it was actually a fix or just not the right conditions to create the noise. the round trip was appx 11 hours and 670 miles. Result - no "kazoo" wind noise on the modified driver side. Noise present on the passenger side.

Trip 2 - Road trip to Oklahoma and Texas to drop the kid at college. I removed the drip line added the D-gasket to passenger side window. one way travel 22 hours and 1460 miles. Result - No "kazoo" wind noise on either side. We'll see how long it lasts.

I hope this can help someone....

I got the idea here. Much thanks to BizzyB726 (Tacoma World) post #50
