Learn from me. Muffler had a couple holes in it and was getting rusty so I decided to chop it a couple feet past the bank 2 o2 sensor.

It is literally so loud now that I cannot drive the truck without my ears hurting.

ordered a cheap resonator off Amazon (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07NY4Y7NV?ie=UTF8&th=1) and hoping this quiets it down a bit, if not I'll have to get another muffler put on.

didnt get any before, but i'll update this thread with a before/after of the resonater. Currently it's high 70's/low 80s dB while driving. Damage to hearing occurs at 70db and above

You could go into any muffler shop and pick up a universal (magnaflow, flowmaster, etc) that'll quiet it down.

Cheap, quick, and easy to weld up.

If you lack the capability of welding, they'll weld it up for you for cheap.

Muffler itself is the "expensive" part cause they'll make money on that, but to run new pipe and weld on a hanger (since you bought a muffler) I shouldn't expect more than $50-100 give or take.

I see, thats not bad at all. Although I didnt buy a muffler, just bought a resonator. If the resonator doesn't quite it considerably, then I'll take it to a shop

Based on the rust underneath that thing...the area he's in has probably never had real Mexican food

Different ethnicity will utilize different slang; I was specifically responding to paisa, being brown and all

It's a fresh coat of fluid film, no rust. But you're right, not a lot of mexican food up here

I just put a similar cheapo resonator on my ford 300 inline 6.

i was straight piping all year, couldn't really step on the gas if anyone was around (i was afraid to break windows).

let me tell you, i was SURPRISED how quiet the cheap little can made the truck.
it is still loud, but it isn't going to burst ear drums o_O anymore and it stopped setting off car alarms in parking lots.

Butt/Lap joint clamps work just fine. no need to take the truck and pay anybody. get some stainless nuts/bolts. the ones that come with the clamps usually rust out and the can will come loose.

on my 3rz, I removed the cat so I only have a single 16in muffler and my LCE headers, and it was unbearably loud and abnoxious. It only took one lap around the block for me to put it back on. you can hear the mic on my phone start to cut out at the end of the video.
I have since then added a resonator which helps a lot.
