I got an alignment a few years ago and they said the LBJ’s were starting to go out. I finally got around to checking them and the other side didn’t seem to budge but this one looked like it had a little play. Is it time to bite the bullet and replace both lower control arms or do I have some time? The crunching sound is just the shovel prying against the tire in the gravel haha. 2006 TRD 4x4 access cab with 173,500 miles. Thanks!

To bet installed: bling grill, headlights, fog lights.
Any play in a ball joint is not good. The go to test is to get the offending tire off the ground without jacking on the suspension. Then grab the tire at the top and push in/ pull out. If there is play, the joint is worn out.

It looks to me like there’s some play doing the shovel test. Maybe take it in for an estimate and have the other side checked too.

That definitely has play in it. Time to change
