Does anybody out there have have a single cab gen 2 prerunner with OME suspension? I’ve got 2885 springs on mine and it’s too much lift, no downward travel, too stiff, and caster/camber aren’t great. I think I’m getting 3”+ lift and I’d rather have less.

would 2884 springs get me closer to 2 - 2.5” of lift? Are there other springs I should consider?

I have 2884s and it added about 1.5~2" of lift, all my reading indicated the 885s would be more then I cared for lift wise and carrying capability since my truck is stock except for a topper. Posts from others seems to indicate that the 885s are a better choice if your goal is lift and/or you are carrying more weight then stock, something heavier like a winch bumper. I can't detect (by feel) that the 884s are stiffer then the stock coils (set to the 1st notch on the 5100s) but it definitely lifted the truck and the truck rides better. You didn't by chance install the 885s with 5100s set to something other than zero (no lift) notch?

Thanks for the info ridefreak. My truck is running OME shocks, so there’s no possibility of selecting the wrong ride height. I think my truck is just so light in front that 885s are complete overkill. When I picked out my kit I had a very heavy home built camper in the bed at all times. Now it’s just a shell and some gear in the bed. I’ve got the OME heavy load Dakar leaf springs. The pictures I attached are from before I decided to remove a leaf from the pack, which lowered the rear about an inch from what the photos show.

I think 884s may be what I need.

I wonder about OME 2883, if that might be the right choice. If 883, 884, 885 are all the same spring rate, bar diameter, and number of turns, I guess the difference in length translates directly to lift? 884 is only 5mm shorter than 885, and 883 is 20mm shorter than 885. Maybe 883 would give the 2” of lift over stock that I’m looking for on my not very heavy truck?

Here are 3rd Gen sport springs on my prerunner - clear 265 KO2’s well except for a bit of plastic rub up front at full lock.

My 884s lifted it about 2.5 when initially installed and settled in to around 2" (DCSB). There's actually 10mm of difference in each step on the 883/884/885 series. Those numbers in the chart are very close to what I saw lift-wise.

Thanks for all the helpful info. I always seem to end up with the weird versions of vehicles where documentation is sparse. All the references I’m able to find say that 2885 is 395mm, 2884 is 390mm, and 2883 is 375mm.

I wish I hadn’t lost my pre-install height measurements so I could tell how much lift I have now. Today my center of hub to fender measurement is 23.5” on both front wheels. With the front wheels off the ground it’s 24.5”, so I’ve only got 1” of downward travel left, that seems excessive. This is why I’m leaning towards the 2883s at the moment. My truck is about 500lbs lighter than a 2wd DCSB.

Thanks to everybody for helping me out.
