I’m new into all the truck stuff. But I’ve had my Tacoma for a bit now, and I want to start doing things to it. But I’m confused on what lift kit to get. I was looking at a 3.5 inch rough country lift kit, but my Tacoma is a 2wd and it’s says the 4wd lift kit isn’t compatible. Does anyone know if I can put the 4wd drive 3.5 lift kit on my 2wd drive Tacoma with there being no issues?

Welcome. Read through this if you haven't already. Tacoma Lift FAQ/Guide - READ THIS | Tacoma World

Everyone will add their 2 cents and then you can make an informed decision. A few factors will come into play being a 2wd, mainly how many lug bolts you have and year of truck. Spindels is a word you will here come up since you have a 2wd truck. Some people have good info to share. Good luck.

The manufacturer has told you that the lift you’re considering is not compatible with your truck, so why are you asking strangers on the internet for a second opinion?

5 lug and 6 lug Tacomas have totally different front suspensions.

Search through the forums and post questions on this topic either in the suspension forum or the third gen forum and you’ll get more assistance, but I recommend thoroughly reading the FAQ in post #2 and generally reading through the suspension threads before asking the next questions.
