I have the below service recommendations from the dealership. My 2019 Tacoma SR5 is at a little over 60k right now. Should I do the coolant exchange now or can I push that a bit due to my lower mileage? Which of the below list “should” I get done now vs which can wait? I haven’t heard of hvac service and not sure if I’d need fuel induction. My guess would be that trans and coolant would be the most important- which brings me to my next question- flush or drain and fill? They’re pushing flush bc it gets it all out and cleans the screen - but I’ve heard horror stories.

    * Coolant exchange - due every 5 years or 100k
    * Brake fluid exchange - Due every 2 years or 30k
    * Fuel induction service - due every 2 years or 30k
    * Transmission fluid - due every 4 years or 60k
    * Power steering fluid exchange - 3 years or 45k
    * HVAC cleaning - once a year or every 15k

Flushing/exchanging a rigs vital fluids when needed is one of the easiest ways to keep a vehicle running for years IMO.

Of course there are many folks that don't do any maintenance on their vehicles, and they run for years.
I enjoy taking care of my cars and highly encourage flushing fluids when needed. Most of these fluid exchanges can be performed in your garage with a few simple tools...not sure what the HVAC cleaning is. I've only ever "recharged" an AC when needed.

    Cheers

That's too long for the coolant IMO: It wears out and gets acidic over time: 5 years/50,000 miles.

Transmission: 6 years/60,000 miles. You're near the limit for a flush and fill, but I would do a drain and fill. Every video you watch never shows a screen that needs cleaning or r&r unless it has x-hundred of thousands of miles and never had it done.

Brake Fluid, PS fluid : 6 years/60,000: There are test strips you can buy that will tell you if there is too much much moisture in the brake fluid. Confirm before you let anyone mess with it.

Induction cleaning? Ask them what this means and what does it include? If they give you a vague answer, just use Top Tier fuel and add a bottle of Techron to the tank just before every oil change. If it includes MAF or throttle body cleaning, (doubt it) ask them: "how much?".

HVAC cleaning - once a year or every 15k!!!???

Does it stink in hot humid weather? If the answer is no: fuhgetaboutit.

Brake fluid and coolant can be tested btw. Those along with a drain and fill on transmission are all that I see here worth doing. They push the full 11qt flush of the trans because it’s $19 per qt. Not necessary.

I drain and fill my trans/diffs every 30k, coolant and PS every 5/60k, brake fluid is tested yearly and compete flush every 3 years. Plugs will also be done at 60k.

AC cleaning is funny, but I think they mean spraying disinfectant in the ac drain line and flushing it. There are guides on how to do this, so don’t pay them for that. You can also spray Lysol into the passenger side cabin intake while you swap the cabin filter to freshen it up vents if they smell. Check the awesome service guides in the sticky too. Enjoy the truck!
