    Hey guys,

As much as I love this truck, and wanted to keep it till it is no longer drivable, it keeps challenging me with reoccurring issues. You guys often use the term, "mall crawler," and that is me. I don't beat the truck, and it has seen nothing but pavement, although Montreal roads could be considered off-roading at times. My Tacoma TRD Pro Solar Octane currently has 9000KM. (not miles) It has been rust proofed with Krown twice, has a ceramic coating, and is regularly cleaned/maintained.

Within the year and a half of ownership, I am on my second set of Fox front shocks, and scheduled for a third at my local dealership. They squeak like an old tractor while driving, and can even be heard when getting in and out of the truck. Even the dealer admitted there is a problem with the 22-23 revised model and without a corrected part, they will ultimately squeak again. They suggested I change out my suspension for aftermarket, which to me defeats the purpose of buying a pro in the first place.

Today a landscaper with his weed trimmer launched debris at my truck while I was waiting to pull into my driveway. I inspected the paint and fortunately there was no damage. While looking over the truck, I noticed the lower portion of my front fender is, "bubbling." I went over to the other side to see if it was also doing it, and sure enough, bubbling. It's even starting to bubble on both rocker panels which is incredibly disheartening to me. Before someone says it, it's not the gravel guard beneath the paint. I am aware that there should be texture on the lower half of the vehicle, but these bubbles can actually be pushed in as if they are filled with air. Some of them have even popped.

I don't even know what to do anymore. I wanted to keep this truck forever, and now I almost want to offload it to the nearest dealer so I don't pass on the issues to someone else with the guilty conscience. If it were just a fender that needed to be repainted it wouldn't be the end of the world, but the rockers are a very different story. Repainting a large portion of truck that I just purchased not even two years ago is very hard to accept.

I know for a fact that there are many others with issues with the factory Fox suspension as I have talked to them personally. On the other hand, I can't be the only one with this paint issue. I would appreciate it if some of you could check your trucks and chime in. The pictures are below for your viewing. I appreciate you. Cheers,

    Jeff

The paint isn’t bubbling , that is stone guard finish on the lower panels , they all have that . Last gen had it too . …. Must be close to Friday. In all seriousness, if you think it’s truly an issue take it to the dealership and have them inspect it .

wild. I would imagine the paint would be covered by warranty too? idk though.

even so, still a huge hassle both on the suspension and paint aspect.

I’m sorry that you have the same issue. Did you just find it now? Take a look closely at your rockers too.

If you’re still under warranty give the dealer the opportunity to correct this.

Quebec has a really good lemon law. I’m not sure a paint defect is significant enough to qualify, but worth looking into.

For a truck that's only been driven around 5600 miles the paint looks like it's much older....and been driven hard too! If I had the same paint issues I would take it to the dealership and get it documented. Winter's in Quebec are hard on vehicles, but that looks like a piss poor paint job to me!

Fellas, is it unreasonable to expect a decent paint job on a 50,000 USD vehicle?
