Nice! The rig looks way different since last time I saw it. New bumpers and 35’s I believe?

 

Dropped my truck off at the body shop after getting hit in a parking lot. Taking the rental Corolla Cross to the dunes probably wouldn't have gone well.

 

Yeah replaced the bumper after bending the Pelfreybilt aluminum one in Holly Oaks last year. Had 35s since 2021.

 

I think I seen your brother up by Bay City last week.

Was this at the dunes up north? I've seen the video, but can't get to the linked post.

 

^It looks to be the southwest portion of the Silver Lake ORV area. Video is posted Aug 12, not sure when the collision happened. I probably drove over the same little hill on Aug 12

 

I was watching the other videos and the background in this one and it looked like the same area. I'm thinking about a trip up to MI this fall and thought getting to the dunes. I'll be hitting the Mt Pleasant area to see a few friends and it seems kinda silly to not try.

That is such a dangerous spot to jump. We used to jump there alot years ago but had a similar incident with a friend. He was lucky the bike hit the front fender of the truck and his knee went thru the windshield rag dolling him down the side of the truck. He got away with a snapped femur. he was a few feet from ending up head first into the windshield. This was like 2004 when the dunes were a lot quieter. Anyhow glad the rider above survived.

 

@3JOH22A did you make any other stops on your Michigan trip or did you drive through to the dunes?

 

^As shown in my album, I went to the beaches in Holland and Ludington, and drove through a small stretch of unmaintained forest road near Little Sable Point light house. On the drive home, I went through Detroit and did the Ford F150 plant tour.
