The bubbles are from the gravel guard and paint not adhering completely to each other. From an SR to a Pro doesn’t matter the trim, I’d bet most have the same bubbles and other makes with the same gravel guard as well. Has anyone posted their paint pealed off from this issue? If you look at your truck as whole is the paint “decent”? Like your face not 3” from the gravel guarded area that is supposed to be textured anyways. I’m saying this is super dramatic to say “I’m totally disappointed in my 2023 Pro” over. I read this expecting a total mechanical lemon story.

2023 Pro here in white. 20k miles and not a single issue so far. Love it other than the gear hunting. If that’s the only issue I see it as a win.

Fellas, is it unreasonable to expect a decent paint job on a 30,000 USD vehicle?

22 here. No issues. The suspension on my truck is dream like, but I do dread thinking about the day I have to service the front end.

And where in between those two points does incorrectly applied, bubbled, or peeling paint on a 1 year old truck land?
I'd categorize the paint in the OP as well below either standard.

orange peel or paint runs is one thing. if its something thats gona cause a rust issue then its a different story. pressure washer a little too close will lift that bubble away

I don’t see peeling. Here I’ll give you some more info, it is called solvent pop. It happens when layers of paint are applied to quickly between coats. My point is you’re talking pin head size dots on a mass production vehicle. I’d much rather live with this than have it repainted or drive a Chevy or Ford truck.

That comment on the landscaper debris made me wonder how the OP would handle him or herself looking at my 5 week old '24. It has spent much of that time as an actual truck with offroad capabilities. I'm not an offroad hobbyist or overlander but MTB and ski trail work plus starting to demolish a property would probably make them cringe.

Closer to topic. I would think a 2023 would still have warranty. People just need to understand how life works. You treat your family and loved ones with tender kindness. You ride skis, MTBs, skateboards and trucks like a teenage boy dating Miss America.

If they put down any salt where you live that's gonna look like hot garbage REAL quick. and even if not, it will be an eyesore eventually. The paint is defective.

Doubt it or thousands of Tacoma’s would have paint problems from this.

thousands of tacomas DO have paint problems... extremely common. especially with the white trucks. toyota has had to do paint repair on many many vehicles already.

Problem is you’re cleaning it too much.

Get it dirty so you can’t see the paint bubbles, and the squeaks of your sandy leaf springs will drown our the noise from your shocks

I think all automotive manufacturers have QC issues. All new cars are to expensive and quality doesn’t back it up.

All I’m saying is this the OP’s paint is “likely” fine. Having repainted would not be good for his trucks value. I’m sure many (not even going to say Tacoma) new vehicles have similar tiny solvent pop dots that go unnoticed for a lifetime. If that bothers you guys so much to sell your truck at least it has good resale…
