Hello and thx for the add. In Florida panhandle with an 09 tacoma 4cyl 5speed.
    58,000 miles.
Having front wheel whining noise at 51 mph. No wobble, steers straight, new front tires. Any gear same noise. Any suggestions? TIA.

Probably needs new wheel bearings. Have they ever been replaced before? They are relatively easy to swap out if you buy the complete bearing assembly. Only tool I had to borrow was a cordless impact and I bought the big socket for the axle nut.

That was my guess. I have gotten a couple of estimates making it sound like a very difficult job.
    Thx for the help.

There are good walkthroughs on here, and videos on youtube. I'm not much of a mechanic at all and it was simple. In fact, I messed up putting the brake dust shield back on wrong, and was able to pull whole thing back apart and back together in about 10 minutes on one side. You just need the entire bearing assembly. Pull off the wheel, pull off the brake caliper (hang it with something from the a-arm), pull the brake rotor off, axle nut dust cap off, then take off axle nut, then four bolts holding the bearing assembly on. Then reverse.

Once you do one side, you'll be an expert, lol.

    Did mine in the backyard.

Before I realized the dust shield was rotated 90 degrees off....

The hardest part for me was trying to break the rotor loose, as it was rusted/corroded to the bearing assembly a bit. I ran to the hardware store and bought two bolts that thread into the holes on the rotor. These force the rotor off the assembly. This worked great, as a sledge wouldn't break them loose lol.
