What can be done about these little chips out of my paint that appear rusty already? This is a 2022 (live in Hawaii, but do not drive on beach or anything)

Side question, is a professional ceramic coating worth it? Seems to be about $1300 here. Appreciate any advice!

If it were me, I’d VERY GENTLY hit them with a brass dremel brush on low speed. Brass should remove the rust without killing the surrounding by paint. Then prime and paint with a touch up kit.

Warning: I am a complete novice, I’m sure more experienced people will chime in.

Don’t do this ^^. Take a piece of 3000 sand paper and lightly get the edges off and rust. Then put a couple coats of touch up on it. If it’s really small I like to use small foam q-tips to apply the paint.

Rust on a 2022 is definitely frustrating, but it’s not uncommon, especially in coastal areas. What’s likely happening is rock chips breaking through the clear coat and exposing metal, allowing oxidation to start. You’ll want to remove any loose rust, treat the area with a rust converter, and then apply a touch-up paint or sealant to prevent it from spreading. If you want added protection, a ceramic coating can help by sealing the paint, adding a hydrophobic layer. The price you mention is reasonable for a high-quality ceramic coating, just make sure it includes proper paint correction before application for the best results.
