If that truly is an available truck, anyone who buys that with the high milage for that price is an idiot, period.

A decade ago I was working for a Ford dealership and we took in a 2 year old Transit Connect with similar mileage. I think it was 425k or 415k. The woman rescued dogs and cats and adopted them off to other states. So would routinely drive 2,000-4,000 miles a week.
Surprisingly looked great, original engine, transmission, and a stack of service receipts. Sold it retail in a week for $9,000.

Doesn't a lot of the damage come from the heat cycling 2x a day that most of us get? If she was driving that much,.I suspect the engine wear would be no where near what you'd initially expect.

Kinda cool to actually own that truck with that many miles. Weird way to think but I’d love to buy it just because of the miles if I could afford another tacoma

It is cool to see a 3rd gen with that high mileage. I think big ole beef’s truck is probably the only one on TW that’s close.

    That price is absurd though.

Haha yea there are definitely a lot of people who take pride in having a super high mileage vehicle, especially among the taco crowd. I hope to be there one day also.

in some ways it’s almost a good thing. At least the truck proved itself and most wear items were prob replaced by now, if the service history is good and the truck was maintained I honestly don’t see the big deal

I think what they’re asking is absurd, but owning a Tacoma with mileage that high wouldn’t be a bad idea as long as you’re prepared to replace the small parts as they wear out. Based on reading big ole beef’s posts and watching the YouTube videos, it seems like you could probably get another 100K out of it before anything major breaks. I think if I remember correctly, he said he was starting to get a misfire in one of the cylinders when he hit 400K? Maybe I’m wrong though.

I wouldn’t worry about that. Will be an uprising if that happens. Ice engine aren’t going anywhere for many decades if not forever
