Hey folks, I'm up to around 1800km so far and lately I am noticing when going into some gears, usually 2nd but sometimes others I will get a bit of a grindy feel during the last few centimeters moving the stick into the gear. It passes the gate smoothly and then just before locking you'll notice some resistance. Like a grindy or gravelly feeling. No noise though.

It's difficult to reproduce, and when sitting at a stop in neutral with the clutch in you can row all the gears and they mostly feel notchy and good.

I wonder if I am getting lazier with my shifting (shifting too high or too low in the band) but I don't think I changed my technique.

Wondering if you guys get any similar feedback from the shift lever - best I can describe it is it feels like you are pushing the stick through gravel during the last half inch/inch of travel.

What was your build date? There were some early issues with the shifter mounting plates or something like that

I felt something like that a few times and after the first 1500 km I think It's engine braking this I found was mostly in 2nd odd time in 3rd this was only when down shifting. I have found that I only down shift into 2nd below 25km and 3rd 40km it seems to shift smoother I have found. I'm now at 8700km. I will say that this is my 1st truck manual and I have two other cars with manuals and this truck drives diffrent then any other I have driven before

Yes mine has the exact same feel. If I shift slowly and give a little gas it's not as pronounced. My truck was built in June 2024, I don't think it has anything to do with the mounting plate failures.
I came from a Ford Focus manual and my guess is that this is just what a truck manual feels like. The tall 1st gear ratio and having the shifter being directly linked to the trans, makes for more physical feedback into the shifting.
