Dashboard warning lights lit, gauges erratic.

Hi all -

This afternoon while out doing errands in the 2015 Tacoma I had numerous dash lights come on and stay on - Yellow ABS warning, Red brake warning, Red seat belt/SRS character with airbag(?)symbol, Yellow slip indicator. Also tach quit working, speedometer and temp gauges were fluctuating, and lastly red ignition key symbol blinks after vehicle is shut down and key removed.

I was able to get it home, it seemed to drive normally. Other than that it was a nice day.

Any suggestions as to what the cause might be?

 

Alternator.

 

Definitely worth checking your battery and alternator.

And based on my own recent experience, check your grounds and power cables. Specifically the ones from the alternator, the batter terminal to fender and the cable from battery to fuse box.

 

Need to start with a full code scan of all the modules but it sounds like possibly a CAN bus issue.

Btw it's normal for the security light to flash with the key out.
