Hey Guys !! I Bought this Taco almost half a year ago and I have done some work on it, initially, I brought it to a Toyota dealer for an inspection, and they came with some ridiculous prices but I started to work on all of it except the Cat converter P0430. when I was working on my front and rear lights replacement bulbs I disconnected the battery and the check engine went off so I just ignored it , fast forward to a couple of months later I scanned my truck today because the check engine went on back again and now I'm getting the permanent and confirmed P0430

" P0430 Catalyst System efficiency below threshold bank 2",
These 2 " P0031 Heated oxygen sensor heater control circuit low bank 1 sensor 1"
" P0051 Heated oxygen sensor heater control circuit low bank 2 sensor 1"
" P0102 Mass or Volume Air flow A circuit low input "

also " the slip indicator" is on at all times, when the check engine is off you can see the slip but when it turns on the slip indicator shuts off and you don't see it on the dash but it will still be like that . I can't barely use the truck when raining , I have almost crashed a couple of times because of that. I'm waiting to align the truck since is way off right now to reset it . and see if that'll work

I'm literally freaking out and getting more anxious than ever. I have been messing with LED lights for a while now, for a month I have been trying to get my new taillights to work properly, I bought a Type of Headlight that has a LED strip around it so it should be used as a DRL ,well a moment pass by and the right side shuts off the same as the turn signal light that also work as a DRL and is just the right side, I thought it was the taillight so I got them out and put the OEM type and after a week I just realized that I also have that problem on that same right side, the turn signal (DRL) shuts off after a min or so it's on and whenever I put the emergency lights or I put on the right signal light it turns back again and in a min or so it shuts down again.

I'm putting this out here just in case it has something to do as I'm out of options and desperate, last thing I did was try to put some raptor lights but ever since I just stopped doing nothing to this truck . These are my problems right now . The truck rides normal , nothing weird and it does not have any problems other than the fuel is bad bad bad but I will like to fix the Codes, the front right side taillight and the slip indicator

I'm hoping I can get the support I need , heard this Forum kicks ass !!

The lighting issues are surely caused by cheap/pourly manufactured aftermarket lights. Not many headlight assemblies are reliable besides the OEM ones. Tail lights usually have less issue when going aftermarket.

As for your traction control, that turns off when you have the P0430 code (or other codes that are related to engine performance). It's my understanding from reading on here that traction control uses signals from the engine to control certain things, and since there is a code the system refuses possibly bad input, so it just shuts the system off.

I ended up having to get new Catalytic converters installed to get that code fixed. I'd start there. It's expensive but important. Cost me mid 2K to get new Cats installed at an independently owned/operated shop.

The front wheel bearings, if you are remotely capable of working on a truck, you might be able to take care of that yourself. I did mine, and I'm not mechanic. Bought pre-built assemblies with quality bearings and swapped them myself in my backyard. Probably cost about 1/4 of what you were quoted for that part of your estimate.

Yeah man , I basically only have on that list as of today the Cat Converter, worked on everything else already !! both new headlights (led strip) and Black headlights) have been using the originally sockets from the old ones that were good . but TBH I don't know if they were like that when I bought the truck 4 months ago

Traction control light is just indicating a hard code. Almost crashing is driver related LOL.

I was trying to ignore that part... but I agree 110%. All it did was shutoff traction control. You still have ABS.

Personally, I would never do that again!

I have aftermarket headlights on my TRD, bought it with them, and have issues as well. I don't drive my truck much at night so have lived with it but would like to upgrade them one day. When on high beam, seems fine, but low beam seem very dim.
