I have a 20R with pretty serious blowback in my 80. It just so happens a guy a few hours away has a 22RE-T he is selling. I need to check it out, but he claims it's in great shape. Has anyone done this swap? I know 20r to 22r is fairly common. Anyone ever swap the Turbo? Just curious. He says he has "everything " from motor to downpipe. He is asking 2k obo Thanks

    I went from a 1983 22r to a 1987 22ret.

you’ll need everything from engine harness to dash, igniter, turbo maf, fuel tank. Essentially a wrecked vehicle will be the best option

Going from carbed na to turbo efi is a huge under taking without a donor vehicle.

I rather do a 3rz swap. More power and fuel efficient.

I did the 22ret because I bought a running but totaled vehicle for 500 and has access to everything. 2k for just the motor is excessive, that’s why a 3rz would be the better choice to go with.
