So I recently bought some new wheels and tires for my taco, not from discount tire, but when they mounted and balanced my tires to install they said they wouldn’t fit due to rubbing on the caliper or something. They said it would fit if I put like a 1.75 or 2 inch spacer but that didn’t sound right. My question is, if I do need spacers what size would I need? 17x8 -12 offset, hub bore 108 with 4 inch backspacing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also I tried looking but couldn’t narrow down my search on the forums. Wheels are Vision 85 Soft 8 steel wheels.

What wheels are these. A 17x8 should not rub the caliper. I’m curious as to the wheel design. I see what they are in your post. They should not be an issue. Have tried them yourself at home, take a wheel off and put one on.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Their application chart is bad. I can't imagine, from seeing the pictures, that those wheels would rub on the calipers.

You could use Spidertrax 1.25" or other high quality spacer most likely.

Its because steel wheels like that dont "swoop in" enough before they get to the wheel hub. Back in the day Procomp or others made a special part number with a 'T' especially to clear Toyota calipers.

You can see how the front of the caliper sticks way out in front of the wheel mating surface (yeah this is 5-lug but same scenario)

Meanwhile the wheel - the face of the wheel comes way inward almost to where the lugs mount it....thus it cant clear the caliper

Awesome, just the answer I needed! I actually have some 1.25 hub centric spacers and I’m going to try to get everything put on today.
