Removed the spark plugs and did a compresion check on all 4 cylinder. All 4 cylinders had no compression. Not even enough to move the needle on the gauge.

    Interesting, timing chain broke?

Removed the top cover and the timing chain is in tact. Camshafts are turning. Nothing looks broken.

Only other thing I can think of that would cause a complete loss of compression is a completely blown headgasket from a severe overheat.

Did you check if there is coolant in the radiator?

Had the starter tested at Oreileys, it past all the test but the guy said it should be 3 times louder and sounds like it has weak power.

When I open the radiator drain valve it has some fluid in there. The overflow is reading at the low level. When I took off the radiator cap I didn’t see anything.

    Something isn’t right here.
Turn the crank and see if the timing chain and cams move.
0 compression on all cylinders isn’t right.

    Is the compression gauge working?
I mean 0 compression on all cylinders. ??????

    Is the crank turning?

Bump the key and see what happens.
If you want to be safe, pull the C/open relay.

    Things are not adding up.

Yes the gauge is working. You can physically feel low to no pressure in the cylinders with your hand covering the hole. Bow of the camshafts and timing belt are turning. All of the springs are being compressed and returned. Could a weak starter affect the compression. Meaning it’s not moving the pistons fast enough to suck in enough air to build the compression it needs to run.

    Crank key sheared?
Seriously out of time and possibly also damaged the crank sensor?
I’m not sure how the 2.7 timing is setup

I mean even if the engine was turning slowly there should still be enough compression to move the gauge.

You could try pouring a small amount of oil into the cylinders and rechecking just to make sure it isn't fuel wash causing no compression.

If you still have zero then time to do a leakdown test and see where it's going.

Soin the engine around to TDC (line up the crank pulley mark) and take a picture of the cams on the #1 cylinder, then do one more crank revolution to TDC and take another picture of the cams.

has any work been done to the engine recently? Has the crank bolt been removed for any reason in the last 10,000 miles?
