    Hello everyone,
Been running 285/75r16 ko2s for about 53,000miles. Time for tires and thinking about down sizing to 265/75r16. Has anyone else done this?
Basic OME 2 plus inch lift, go fast camper.

I can understand why you would, due to the weight and mpg with 33s. I have a similar lift with 265/75/16, and I think they look just fine.

I didn't go from 285s but I did have 255/85r16 and now have 265/75r16 with 2" lift. Looks ok but not as great

Bilstein 6112 front / 5100 rear (extended) shocks, Headstrong AAL, Firestone airbags, 4.88 gears, OME Carrier bearing drop kit, Aluminum 1/4" skids (engine to transfer). Custom sliders (1.75" HREW tube w/ 3/16" base plates). Custom front bumper and high clearance rear bumper (1/4" steel plate, 1.75" tube.) Apex 5500 winch w/synthetic line (36lbs) and required accessories for an underpowered winch (snatch blocks and extra line.) Tekonsha P3 brake controller, remote start, any-time-backup camera w/ front facing camera, Leer 100R shell (w/e-track single slot tie-down mounts for removable Yakima EasyTop.) Cat shields by CaliRaised. Husky liners, window tint, heated seat (passenger only.) Relentless bed rail brackets with QuickFists (shovel/axe/fire extinguisher.) Hondo Garage Un-holey vent mount. Anytime rear with front facing camera. Billet front seat risers. Viair 88p. 265/75r16 Goodyear Ultra-terrain tires.
2+" lift here running 265/75r16s and generally happy with them.

I'd like to experiment with 285s... but I'd go with 17" wheel first due to the slow acceleration and mpg hit caused by the weight of 285 16s.

I don't have photos at the same angle. I feel if the 285s were on machined wheels they'd look even bigger. Also wheel offset plays a role in making them look bigger I think. I didn't notice power loss and the mpg isn't a lot different either. But 265s are cheaper.

265/75r16s from a different angle. Slight lift maybe an inch? (3rd gen suspension swap)

Yep. I have done it. I run Bilstein 5100’s on all 4 corners, set to 1.55” in the front. Icon AAL in the rear to help with the added weight of the ARE cap and gear inside.

I downgraded size to help with acceleration, braking and MPGs. I drive the truck all over the US and Canada and the 265’s do everything I need. Also, for those who care, the speedometer is dead accurate with the 265’s.

How are you liking the Maxxis Razr MTs? they look nice. I might consider this my next tire.

I went from 31’s to 32’s and i can feel the difference. Smaller tires will do everything better except off road.
