Grinding Sound from 8 yr old Whirlpool Duet Washer

That grinding noise sounds like something’s definitely up. I had a similar issue with my washing machine, and it turned out to be the bearings that were shot. It might be worth checking the clutch, but from my experience, those grinding noises usually mean the bearings or the agitator are worn out.
