I don't mind a dent/chip here and there, and normal road rash, but this one is not great and in an area that could get worse.

My trucked was parked in a church lot while I was doing work and a landscape crew HAD to park next to me, recklessly unloading their mowers, etc. I had a gut feeling to get out and move it.

    Anyway, recommendations on repairing this?

    Thanks.IMG_0744.HEIC.jpgIMG_0745.HEIC.jpg

That’s a dig and a sharp dent. You need to cover any bare metal as soon as possible. Is that turned up metal or a plastic. I’d wash the truck and remove all the dirt first. Good luck

Yes, I cleaned it and added touch up paint to seal any exposed metal. That the plastic protective cover that's turned up.

Yes, that is repairable with a good body man you will never know it was there. The protective film will need to be removed and replaced if desired.

Thanks. The protective film is getting moldy too.

It’s unfortunate where they hit on the edge most dents dings can be removed by PDR “paintless dent removal’” and most don’t even need touch up. In your case don’t sweat it easy repair.

Update: My dent guy was able flatten it out nicely but still have the gash to address on the edge of the hood. I've gotten a few crazy quotes and it'd involved repainting the entire hood. Thinking of getting some putty compound and smoothing it out carefully as its only pea sized gash, and carefully cutting around the protective hood film, then touchup paint/clearcoat. Also considering the low profile matte AVS or Weather Tech hood protector. I'm trying to prevent it from getting worse. Thoughts?

If you don't care that it will look like ass, do it as you describe. If you want it to look good, have it painted at a shop. The quotes you got aren't "crazy." You just have no understanding of what it costs to do properly.

What I should have said was "steep", like $1,875. I have no problem paying to have it done right, just considering alternatives.

I would forget "looks" on such a small area. Unless you are selling tomorrow ... sealing against rust is the key. If the PDR guy did not seal it, apply a rust-remover/preventer to stop any growth now. Get paint on it, accept it as the first damage it will take in its life.

    My humble opinion.
