Building out my overlanding rig and the 12v house system.

Looking to run Victron MPTT, DC to DC, Shore power converter and 490W of solar. with 2 200 panels and a 90 panel.

Will add an inverter later on but not now.

    Looking for 100-250ah

I've seen good things about BattleBorn, but holy cow cost per W is crazy. What are your thoughts about the off brands? Renogy, LiTime, Dakota Lithium, etc....

Litime makes a good product for the price in my opinion
Be careful which you select, some don’t have sensor to prevent charging below freezing, etc

If you don’t have any of that stuff now, an all in one unit can be a good way to go
I just picked up an Ecoflow delta for $411, it’s 1000whrs, 1800w inverter, 500w solar input, 1200w AC charging. Can add their alternator charge to do 800w DC charging

I would rather have everything separate so it is serviceable when out in the boonies. If my DC-DC breaks down I will still be able to charge via shore or Solar and vice versa.
Having independent batteries makes the system expandable and updatable as well.
Also for the size the eco flow only provides around 84ah. Looking for double or triple that amount of storage in components I can hide and mount to various spots in my rear seat delete cabinet. I've got quite the setup I am fabbing right now.

Epoch Batteries are some of the best you can buy right now. I currently have an SOK house battery and it works fine but max input/output is low compared to the new generation. I had been debating building my own out of EVE cells but Epoch is at a price point where I don't know if I could DIY for less anyways.

Edit: I just checked SOK's website, they have a new 280Ah battery that is a smokin good deal so much so that even I might upgrade. Damn this forum, making me spend money on things I already have working...

Keep in mind to watch for low temp charging protection no matter what you get. I know it says you are in Dallas so it won't matter as much, but it gets cold in the desert too and if you take a trip to the mountains this gets important. Super cheap Amazon junk usually doesn't have this (even if they claim they do, there are YouTubers out there that prove them false).

low temp on the onboard BMS isn’t vital to me as I will be adding temperature sensors for my victron system.
    Thanks for the info!

Lynx (no name chinesium, build-a-block cell style), versus the equivalent amperage lead that it replaced. I bought this in April 2021, it sits out in the elements in a plastic box, I've frequently discharged it below 20%, and yet it still retains full charge capacity. It's treated me well.

I didn't think there's much reason to go brand name with lithium iron phosphate. If they're bad, you'll usually know it before the return window expires.

Although I am not shying away from the prospect of a DIY battery setup like this, I just really like the convenience of prebuilt batteries with an onboard BMS.
