Greg: ever make a cutting board out of the scraps? That coal bed looks so good. As long as there is no pine or preasure treated wood in the wraps I would be using the coals to smoke a pork shoulder.

Good morning.still at the ocean for one more day of fun and music.

Morning everybody! 54* now…NICE! 88* the high which will be 6* above our average.
Today’s task is getting my Taco and SuperPacific ready to go to Trapper’s Lake (out of Meeker, CO) next week with friends to try to catch some of the nice Brookies it holds. Hopefully some fine fillets to bring home.

September 1 opening day of dove season. Sadly, no water holes, no doves. Only doves I’ve seen are at my feeders in the back yard. Still fun to watch!

Hope everyone has a great day! Make it happen!

By the time my wood hits the scrap box it's definitely scrap and very little pieces, lol. I have a chainsaw mill and I mill my own lumber, I know where to find hardwood 5/4" pallets, and I also get mill Ripping from a hardwood supplier and mill right. I have more wood than I'll ever use in my lifetime, lol. If I want to make a cutting board I just make one. Hardwood lumber has gotten so expensive that if I had to buy it I wouldn't be able to do my woodworking hobby. So I learned how to find it. My motto is "wood is free, it's everywhere, you just have to learn how to look for it"

Just took another covid test, I'm negative, on the mend now. It was a rough 4 days but glad it wasn't 11 to 14 like the first time I had it. This time it didn't get down into my lungs.

    Afternoon all:

    Glad you're over covid Greg,
Was thinking along similar lines for that bed of coals, but for roasting hot dogs!

Enjoy the brook trout fishing Phillip, they sure are pretty and I might add tasty, and make sure to post a few pics.

Great weekend of concerts. Tower of Power Friday night with dinner package and first 5 row seats. Saturday night saw Earth Wind & Fire and Chicago.
We've seen EWF 3 times now over the last 6 or so years. They get better and better each time, amazing music and production. Chicago was a bunch of cool old
white guys making good music. I had forgotten how many hits they had.
Tower of Power were good, again long in the tooth but worth it.
You know when you are getting old when you pack ear plugs and dental picks when you go out.
Labor Day weekend so I disciplined my alcohol intake while driving to and from each venue.

Gutter guards working. I can see one from an upstairs window. Leaves and a few acorns will pile up during a wind, then they blow clean. Guess I can put away the extension ladder. On to the next crisis de jour. Surgery follow-up this am.. back to Cincy. I'll have one more follow up, in 6wks.

Yeoww! I saw where Jaguar says to park their cars outside, in case it overheats, burns down the garage. That's fine, but not the correct answer, Jag.

Breakfast, coffee, then off to the 1 + hrs to the range. Back home, unload range gear, then load camping gear. Need to see if it’s time to change my oil before my camping/fishing trip! Probably close. Also might should mow the lawn before I leave tomorrow. Busy day!
Hmmm…forgot the granddaughter is going to pick up her mom and dog for a brat dinner tonight.
    Yep, a pretty full day!

Have a fantastic day everyone! Not a minute to waste!
