So I replaced my front bearings with this China made shit a while back and I can’t keep the lug nuts from backing off. Ordered new nuts and apparently it’s the studs they used are just a little different. Used blue treadlocker today and time will tell? Anyone else had this issue? What did you do to fix it? Thanks!

Dont buy aftermarket parts for Toyota vehicles. 05Taco4x4 on this site sells OEM equivalent pressed sets. At a reasonable price.

Unfortunately you got exactly what you paid. Hopefully the blue Loctite works.

I've used two Dorman hubs and one SKF hub over the years with no issues. My advice would be to use "name brand chineseium"...

Cheapest and fastest solution is to hammer out the studs and replace them with better ones. I've used Dorman studs with success. (I broke factory studs once due to a shitty torque wrench...) Pack of 10 is only $10: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1060129&cc=1431544&pt=7680&jsn=459&optionchoice=0-0-0-10

Make sure there's no antiseize or grease on the wheel studs or inside the lugnuts.

Why on earth would you take chances with a wheel coming loose? Get that crap off of there before you hurt somebody

Don’t ever buy anything from China! I bought some underwear from China once and they were so tight it made my voice change to a high pitch.

Dangerous issue. Loc-Tite and Torque wrench to tighten them to spec and check them frequently until you resolve.

China parts are fine so long as they are from a reputable company, who will have better quality control. I’ve had no issues with DuraGo bearings and hubs. Not just in my Taco but also on a 07 Lexus ES350. They also make brake rotors and drums, but I am set on Powerstop brake products.

Replacing the wheel studs is a good idea but be prepare that they may use different specs at the knurl end. Do one first to see that it fits.

I’ve also bought and installed wheel studs from NAPA, so far so good. I used to live in a beach community on the Atlantic, sea spray was not kind, the lug twisted off like a Twizzler. Installing and removing the old and new lug was simple especially with and impact wrench. I definitely do not want my rim and tire coming off…they’re a weapon especially at speed.

Basics. Tires, painted headlighes, UHLM, baby winch in the bed, and heated mirrors :)
Seconded, I used his bearing assemblies a few years ago and they’re excellent quality, still running strong.

I’d never use an off-brand bargain part in such a critical role. If it fails, it does so catastrophically and very likely to cause casualties.

Edit: I’m no puritan; I have no problem using aftermarket parts from reputable brands of known good quality. But chancing lives on sketchy no-name parts of dubious origins…that’s not even close to being worth saving a few bucks.

I wouldnt drive on that. If the studs aren’t good enough quality to hold the lug nuts on, what happens when you find out there are hidden defects in the hub/bearing, when it shatters apart going down the road?

Blue locktite will not hold on any thread that heats up. Good for scope mounts and rings.

I would not locktite or lube and lug nut. They should just work. Now your going to be pulling over every road trip to check 24 nuts…
