I just put a deposit on a Ranch Echo cap. Gets installed next week. Anyone here have any experience with them. Saw some positive reviews online but no real comparisons to LEER or ARE. Sorry if there is already a thread on this.

They are made by the same parent company as either, leer, are, or snugtop. I can’t remember off hand. I think the most important thing about caps are that you get the features/options that you want. I also look at the windows themselves and how well they match the cabs windows in shape and depth of the surrounding “pane”. I saw a ranch when I picked up a smartcap, it had no side windows though. Personally I don’t like the overlap that snugtop has, and like the looks of the ARE, I think, most.

I know there is a slight overlap. Looks fine to me I figured it would help a little with water intrusion. The price new installed was just under $2k with sliding windows including front and fully carpeted. ARE and LEER way more $. Just want it so I can lock up stuff in the back and keep it a little drier. My current tonneau cover leaks like a screen.

Mine Ranch has been great, I bought it secondhand last summer. My bed barely has any water in it after a hard rain,, but the bedsides aren't watertight tight either.
You might get a bit of sag with any brand fiberglass topper, so keep that in mind.

    A little trick:
These rechargeable LED's work fantastic! They come with a metal strip, that I glued to the carpet in the back ceiling. The lights have a strong magnet that haven't fallen off yet. There is a motion setting, as soon as I lift the back glass they turn on.
Oh, and a charge lasts months. They work so darn good, I bought them for home use too.

I used some similar led strip I found in the jungle. But used Velcro on the carpet. The black dual sided Velcro is nice because the fuzzy side out hides the fact it’s there in the carpet. It’s handy for sticking up everything. On the smartcap I used magnets.

    Thanks!
Smart, as these trucks sag with a sack of taters in the back, let alone an inverted hot tub :D

Yes I have no experience with different springs but Sumo is a cheap option with high reviews. To me the biggest downside to the Tacoma is the payload capacity. 990lbs is pathetic in mine. I'm 300lbs alone. Gotta keep the wife under 660.
