Well since the Tacoma has been so great, we decided adding a 5th gen end of production 4Runner would be even better! We ordered one right before our wedding only to get back after the honeymoon and get told Toyota stopped production and we wouldn’t be getting one. Then some guy who had ordered and been alotted the exact same model and colour we had ordered couldn’t get financing so it was offered to us and we took it! So now my lonely Taco has company in the garage. We’re set on vehicles for the next 20 years lol Anyways, thanks to you guys getting me started on the Tacoma train when I didn’t own one, I’d find myself here reading about them frequently and ultimately you’re all the reason I bought. Now that has lead us to a great generation of 4Runner.

I think the last year 5th gen is a good idea. My wife and I are waiting on delivery of our 24 4Runner Pro any day now.

Just a $1,000 on dealer fees and only because I’ve bought three new vehicles from them in the last year, and a $300 service credit.

I’ve seen the stacks of binders of orders waiting to be filled. Ask for a discount and they’ll tell you to piss off and in an hour it’ll be sold to the next guy waiting on a list. Inventory never really recovered in Canada after Covid.

You bet, they’ll never be as bulletproof as these ones. Lots of guys don’t care, will trade it in a few years but we keep vehicles until they die and ideally that’s 20 years.

Thanks! But bad bet, I put way more miles on Tacoma than on 4Runner (wife’s vehicle) so you’re probably right. Although once the engine goes in the taco I’m replacing it with a crate 4.0 engine/tranny or pulling from a wrecked 4Runner/2nd gen taco and having it rebuilt to plop in my 3rd gen. There’s no rust underneath and body is in perfect shape, just a lot of highway miles so the engine will probably go long before body does.

I have the same setup. The 4Runner is flawless, and I have to say, I prefer its 4.0 and 5-speed.

Congrats! Plus, your garage is too clean! I just barely stuff my two in my garage. :)
