But it is a DRY heat!

 

Those night temps are brutal.

 

I love it. Moved here for it because I am sick-to-death of shoveling 3 ft of snow from the driveway. I like to run at night because it is warm but no sun to make things harder.

 

My 7 day forecast! Dew points in the 50's as well!

 

I lived in Greenesboro/Kernersville for a while. You have some altitude and cooler temps than W-S. Not frigid, but I an old and intolerant of cold. PHX for me.

 

At least I would get more use out of the pool with that weather . Closing it up this week the water is freezing. Outside temp was 49 this morning.

You get used to it. It helps that most of the time you can sweat it off hardly knowing, unlike humid zones. Come on out to PHX in November/December ... you will like it ... seriously.

 

I have always heard the dry heat isn’t as bad.

 

Depends on how careless you are. Last month a 10-year-old kid died. Family had just moved from Missouri the day before, went on a long 9AM-3PM hike in the open/cloudless desert-like park. You can sweat so easily that you are not aware you are losing fluids rapidly. Handle it correctly, it can be very usable.

 

Yeah, it only gives you a nose bleed.

 

Man that’s terrible. Guess most people aren’t used to that kind of heat.

 

I don't care where you are, 110 degrees is HOT!

 

Never denied it. State of mind, I guess, accepting this to avoid 10 F in winter. But ... PHX is in a "valley". 80 miles north and 3 ft higher is Payson or Prescott -- it has cooler winters. 120 miles north is Flagstaff which gets genuine winter. One can live in hot but easily get to cold, or in "mild" and go to hot or cold.

 

I hate it here.

 

I left Oregon to come here for the heat and plenty of sunshine. Glad I did.

 

I could never live there.

 

Another former Oregonian checking in. I'll take the heat over whatever Oregon has to offer.
