Being born and raised in the AZ , I am not happy until it hits 100 outside. You just do more at night and always have water in the truck.

PHX, AZ (Clint Eastwood, "The Gauntlet"). Except for my forecast saying 107 for today, all other days identical.

Vegas actually can be cooler by 10 degrees when I look at that forecast.

I have family in Phoenix, and occasionally their pool gets too hot to swim in in the summer. It feels like nearly hot tub temperature which is not refreshing when it's over 100 degrees out.

Been here 7 years - the last 2 have been hotter for sure - and yea 8 months of the year here are excellent, and
I don't miss ice/snow/tornados/floods/ etc.... and I don't miss flies and bugs either - but man is it hot this year.

Thinking about tricking out a van ( camper ) and just driving 3 months out of the year ( Northwards ) to cooler areas.

Give me the Pacific Ocean any day. Right now, 70 degrees with a wonderful cool breeze coming off the ocean. I do miss my sail boats.

I'm still on the original batteries in my 15 Taco and 16 Honda.

I'll probably replace the Honda one [Lord I wish Panasonic sold batteries in the US, they are FANTASTIC] simply because I'll be doing some traveling this fall.

That sucks. Highs in the 50/60s, lows in the 30/40s here. Winter is coming.

Moving to AZ gave me open desert space that personifies "big sky country". I can only imagine the open spaces of AK ... summer and winter. Maybe if I am still mobile when I am done programming computers I will take some time up there.

I seriously recommend buying new batteries before you get stuck some place. Happened to me in Arizona Heat a few years ago and
I had a tub of ice cream in the car.... it wasn't a pretty sight.
