I started reading more into cooling fans and started questioning my setup after seeing temps get as high as 226* while at a long red light on a pretty hot day. My original fans were 12" Summit Racing fans rated at around 727 CFM at around 7.7 amps each and it turns out that they are actually 11" fans. So, I went with two 12" SPAL's that pull 1451 cfm and 14.5 amps each, so doubling the amps and doubling the CFM.

The fans kick on low speed around 203* and high speed at 217*. After a quick test drive, the temp never got above 216* and usually stayed around 199-210 when cruising.

Trimming of the shroud showing how much smaller the old fans were

    Hmmm,
I’m running an upgraded OE radiator (Mishimoto drop in) with two SPAL 2000 CFM fans and a $476 custom made radiator shroud.

    this thing is DONE!!!

Grizzly locker and 4.56 gears installed in the front and everything is now buttoned up.

The Mishimoto thermostat that I had installed failed to open out of nowhere while just idling in my driveway while I wasn't paying much attention. I reluctantly installed that piece of shit at my tuner's request and it almost cost me an engine (he wanted a lower temp activated stat). Luckily the scangauge alarmed me and let me know what was happening. Hard for me to believe that Mishimoto is still even in business with how dogshit all of their products are. Ok I'm done ranting....

Gap guards done and front bumps welded in on the leaf spring plates. Landing pads for the bottom of the frame are in the works along with getting the rear bump mounts built

    Hmmm,
Well that’s not nice to say. @allenfab is the only one to finish his LS Swapped Taco. He’s up and running out of the 3 of us that started at approx. the same time frame. Plus he did all of his own work. I had to hire mine out because I don’t have the proper tools, skills and abilities. (I’ve learned the hard way it’s sometimes better to hire a professional when things are over your head). My swap was the simplest one of the 3. just had a 4 x 2 five lug swapped with an all aluminum 5.3 L33 that I had refreshed with a baby cam. Sitting behind the L33 is a twin disc clutch and a Tremec TKX 5 speed.

Yeah @allenfab did you build a mall crawler or an actual wheeler? Gotta get that thing out on some dirt.

    yea yea yea :luvya:

Did the first oil change over the last couple of weeks and finished the landing pads for the front bump stops. Rears have been started and should be done by the weekend... then maybe wheeling?

I will say the only thing bad is if the stops are Polly they are almost as hard as a rock!
Sorry but if you think you might hit the stops from time to time *I* would look for a long rubber stop.
Foam stops might work there’s hundreds of styles out there with different firmness. Just a suggestion and a couple examples below. But it’s really none of my damn business…
