SS lines won't prevent the issue of debris within the wheel damaging the line. They are built the same as the OEM line. SS lines merely have a SS sleeve over them to "improve pedal feel" not to resist being pulled on.

IMG_2081.jpg You mean you guys aren’t happy about having a new excuse to buy some aftermarket brake line skid plates? Just think about it…

Sad no YouTube videos of a dramatic landscape, drone footage of the Tacoma bouncing along the roads. Remote. Great basin high country.

Pull into a shot of the truck slowing and stopping.

A wave of dust washes past the door.

The driver gets out. Just a closeup off dusty boots on the ground.

Crunchy gravel footsteps each raising a cloud of dust. The camera follows the feet to the back of the truck.

From the opposite side of the truck we see the feet stop, then a knee comes down and the drivers face shows as we look under the truck.

There's a drop drop drop we see of oil landing in the dust.

The driver reaches up. We are over his shoulder now. Hand reaching under the truck and coming back into view with fingers slick. He rubs them together.

Some dialog about the new truck blah blah, brake lines etc.

We see the drone footage again, circling the truck from high above like a vulture circling carrion.

    ---

Then dramatic effects of slow mo / fast cuts of new brake line "reinforcing " being made in a factory.

"USA born, USA built" says the voice over. "The first and only brake line saver for the 2024 Tacoma. Don't get stranded."

Are US made parts necessary on a hecho en Mexico vehicle? Let's rip off someone's good idea and have it produced in a low wage country....

Just as an fyi, I would suggest writing or calling Toyota Customer Service, describe the safety issue with this design, and open a case number, I did. Safety should never be compromised.

Yeah if I didn't know that was a new untouched vehicle I might assume someone installed new rubber lines themselves and wasn't paying attention. Shitty placement when you expect brake lines to see decades of use before failing under normal conditions. Or maybe that was Toyota of yesteryear.

I need b-roll of the taco locking the brakes up on a dusty gravel road right when the voice actor says "stops". We printin money.

With integral ABS sensor guard? Might be on to something here.

Toyota should swap next model year’s calipers from sliding to fixed, then there’s no need for a short flex line. However that might add $50 to the parts cost so never mind!

When this happened, the sky was falling over the brake line locations. One failure and nothing since.

Toyota fixed his brake line. I don't think there's anything to open.

If there's a real issue, it will show itself this winter.
